Background: A renovated large end terraced Edwardian property, sympathetically modernised with most of the period features restored. To the rear, there is a medium sized terraced garden. The client is a family with a young child and intends to live there for some time.

Solution:
Remove the tiles lay a hardcore bed, raising the floor level to the height of the manhole cover and gravel over. Providing easy access to the manhole and yet covering an unwanted feature. The red gravel helps the transition from the property to garden and vise versa because of the buildings Cheshire "red" brickwork.
